About Me
Want to learn more about me? (At least what I'm willing to publish
on the net). These pages here are more of a list of links I find
interesting than some great auto-biography.
Here are some of my interests:
Books and Magazines
I'm an avid reader of science fiction, preferably complex stories
involving human-alien interactions, cyberpunk, and/or advanced
technologies. My favorite SF authors (currently) are
Samuel R. Delany, Neal Stephenson,
Vernor Vinge,
Stephen
Baxter, and Greg Bear. I used to be a big fan of Larry Niven's
Known
Space series (also
here).
I like to read technical science-oriented stuff. I really enjoy
biochemistry and biology, especially as it relates to the diversity
of life on a genetic and biochemical level, and how that all relates
to evolution.
I also love to browse bookstores, like
Book Stacks.
BookWeb,
Amazon,
and A Different Light.
There's always the
books section of
Yahoo. Failing that, there are the
publishers available through Yahoo.
The Circlet Press
publishes erotic science fiction and fantasy.
Black
Ice Books publishes edge fiction, as does
Fiction
Collective 2
I also subscribe to too many magazines. Here are some of them:
Here are some online-magazines I like, but don't subscribe to:
I really like biochemistry. A good reference is
The
World-Wide Web Virtual Library: Biosciences. There's even a
Periodic Table of the Elements floating around.
Maps and Geography
I'm kind of a map fanatic. I love atlases and geography. The web
has been a great resource:
Weather
Here are some links to information about the weather.
Reference Shelf
Here are some links to general reference information.
Astronomy
Part of getting my science fix, combined with a desure to know
what's out there. The universe is not just stranger than we imagine,
it is stranger than we can imagine.
News
Current Events on the Internet:
Touring the Web
It's new! It's fun! There's so much! It makes you think you are
actually doing things when you look up to discover the reason your
finger are cramping is because you've just spent an hour clicking
madly at links. Here are some sites that I'd like to visit:
Search Engines
If you can't find it in one of these places, it probably doesn't exist.
Shopping
In addition to all the Internet CD Stores that
I've collected, or that you can get to through
Yahoo, I
like to take a look at these places:
